Western Australia's five TAFEs have permanent Managing Directors appointed

The Liberal National Government has appointed Managing Directors to its five TAFEs under the recently reformed TAFE system.

 

Deputy Premier and Training and Workforce Development Minister Liza Harvey today announced the appointment, by Her Excellency the Honourable Kerry Sanderson AC Governor of Western Australia, of the Managing Directors of the five new TAFE colleges created as part of the reform to strengthen Western Australia's vocational educational and training sector. 

 

All of the Managing Directors were appointed for a five-year term and hold a wealth of experience and knowledge of the sector which they bring to the positions. 

 

"This is a significant milestone in the reform project which will ensure a robust and sustainable TAFE sector for Western Australia," Ms Harvey said.

 

The Managing Directors are:

 

South Metropolitan TAFE

Ms Terry Durant 

 

North Metropolitan TAFE

Ms Michelle Hoad

 

South Regional TAFE

Mr Duncan Anderson 

 

Central Regional TAFE

Mr Bill Swetman 

 

North Regional TAFE

Mr Kevin Doig

 

The Deputy Premier said under the reform, Western Australia reduced the management structure of its 70 campuses from 11 institutions to five TAFEs.

 

"Greater collaboration and sharing of resources and course options has already been occurring, and the appointment of permanent Managing Directors will only strengthen this process," she said.
